The Coming Jupiter–Neptune Conjunction
An important cosmic event will happen in about three days: a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction will take place on April 12, at 14:43 GMT. In fact, it won't be just a conjunction, the planets will also be close to a precise parallel of declination (the parallel will be precise on the previous day). (If you are not familiar with declination and parallels, pay attention to an announcement below.) So this will be like a super-conjunction. Some schools of astrology would call it an occultation, others — a "planetary eclipse". Let's also not forget that both Jupiter and Neptune will be in the sign of their dignity, so their impact on the world will, most probably, be very noticeable. What kind of impact that could be? Many astrologers in anticipation of this conjunction wrote about a heightened spiritual awareness, mystical insights, idealism and generosity, and other such generally positive things. And they were correct in doing that, of course. Reinhold Ebertin wrote in his COSI book that the combination of Jupiter's and Neptune's energies is associated with the love of humanity, idealism, mysticism, interest in art. Michael Munkasey wrote in his Midpoints book that this pair produces "Expansiveness and wholesome joviality combined with confusion and neglect to bring an inner focus upon and/or elaboration of daydreams or visions... and a belief that goals and obligations can be explained away as you tire of meeting them". Charles Harvey wrote in Mundane Astrology that Jupiter-Neptune cycle "has a strongly idealistic, humanitarian and ideological quality about it", and that it is related to the unfoldment of idealistic and religious belief systems. I see this coming conjunction from a somewhat different viewpoint. Back in December, in Issue #130 of Lunarium News, I wrote about Jupiter's ingress into Pisces. I didn't like it: in the chart cast for Moscow Mars was exactly on the Ascendant, in a precise aspect with Pluto and in a quincunx with unpredictable Uranus. I also noticed that on the astrocartography map the line of Mars was coming not far from Moscow and then across the Ukraine. I wrote: "It looks to me like someone might be overly optimistic about their power, and keen to expand". Now we can see how it worked out: Putin got overly optimistic indeed and started what he hoped to be a blitzkrieg. That plan failed, but nevertheless Putin succeeded in the information war, in keeping a great part of Russia's population, and even some foreigners, under the delusion of Russia doing a good and necessary thing to restore its greatness. Using for this tightly controlled mass media, of course. So this is another way how Jupiter and Neptune can manifest themselves in Pisces: producing shameless but powerful lies that attempt to hide away even the most horrible of atrocities. How could this pair of planets manifest itself in the near future? One possibility is that Putin's regime will attempt to somehow disguise the failure of his campaign, even if only in the eyes of Russia's population. But there remains other, more negative possibility: the use of chemical weapons, which is now often mentioned as a possibility in the news of the war. Perhaps as a provocation. In that case, the Jupiter-Neptune-on-the-Descendant line passing through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and other countries might hint to us something. Or maybe some political scandal will happen there. |

The Sun is in Aries from March 20-April 19. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive and have the urge to initiate.
Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little in the way of shame with Aries. It is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.
Mercury is in Aries from March 27-April 10. When Mercury is in Aries, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.
There can be quick, possibly impatient or hurried, decisions during this cycle, and our responses are similar: quick and perhaps defensive or combative. We value independent thought, and we can be mentally competitive. executive decisions. We prefer to learn through personal experience, not instruction.
Mercury is in Taurus from April 10-29. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We should watch for falling in love with an idealized image of something or someone. It’s also important to watch for avoidant or indirect behavior.
Venus is exalted in Pisces and does well in the sign. It’s devoted, compassionate, exceptionally giving, and capable of sacrifice. We might refer heavily on our intuition with our finances and love life during this cycle. We gravitate to–and appreciate–unusual, tossed aside, poetic, artistic objects, situations, and people. We seek activities that move, inspire, or touch us.
Money may slip through our fingers, or we could turn a blind eye to some of the practical elements of our lives now. However, finances improve if we connect with our otherworldly talents, imagination, desire to heal and serve, or sense of mission.
This transit is not particularly strong for resolve or determination, but it’s good for adaptability and increased understanding or acceptance.

Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.

Venus is in Pisces from April 5 to May 2. Like Aquarius, Pisces love is universal. However, Pisces draws no bounds in love. L’équinoxe de printemps 20 mars 2022
Dimanche 20 mars c’est le début du printemps pour l’hémisphère nord…
C’est l’équinoxe de mars qui défini le début du printemps (ou de l’automne pour l’hémisphère sud). L’équinoxe est un phénomène astronomique qui correspond au moment où le Soleil se retrouve pile dans l’alignement de l’équateur, comme dans le schéma ci-dessus. Cela signifie que le soleil est au zénith de l’équateur et qu’il éclaire la terre perpendiculairement à son axe de rotation. C’est la raison pour laquelle, lors de l’équinoxe et donc lors du passage de l’hiver au printemps (ou de l’été à l’automne) le jour et la nuit sont de durée égale (équinoxe, du latin aequus: égal et nox, noctis: nuit).
Pourquoi le jour et la nuit sont-ils de durée égale seulement à l’équinoxe?
Comprendre le phénomène des saisons est la première étape pour bien comprendre le phénomène des équinoxes. Si nous avons des saisons sur la Terre, c’est parce que son axe de rotation est incliné d’environ 23° (par rapport au plan de rotation de la Terre autour du Soleil). En effet la Terre ne tourne pas sur elle-même comme une toupie tournant de façon bien droite, mais plutôt comme un gyroscope. C’est donc parce que la Terre est inclinée, que le Soleil ne l’éclaire pas de la même façon tout au long de l’année. La vidéo ainsi que les schémas ci-dessous permettent une vision claire du phénomène. En hémisphère nord, la durée d’ensoleillement diminue pendant six mois de l’année pour augmenter à nouveau pendant les six mois suivants, les deux points culminant de cette variation étant le solstice d’hiver (durée du jour la plus courte de l’année) et le solstice d’été (durée du jour la plus longue de l’année). L’équinoxe quant à lui, correspond au milieu de ces deux extrêmes.
Lors de sa rotation annuelle autour du Soleil, la Terre se retrouve donc deux fois dans la position où le Soleil est pile à la verticale de l’équateur. Une première fois en mars, lors de l’équinoxe de printemps et une seconde en septembre, lors de l’équinoxe d’automne.

A Ukrainian military factory making missiles was seriously damaged
Kyiv (Ukraine) (AFP) - Russian strikes pounded a military factory near Kyiv that makes the missiles Ukraine claims it used to sink the Moskva naval flagship, with Moscow on Friday vowing renewed attacks on the capital.
A workshop and an administrative building at the Vizar plant, which lies near Kyiv’s international Zhuliany airport, were seriously damaged in the overnight strikes, an AFP journalist saw.
Russia had earlier announced it had used Kalibr sea-based long-range missiles to hit the factory, which Ukraine’s state weapons manufacturer Ukroboronprom says produced Neptune missiles.
“There were five hits. My employee was in the office and got thrown off his feet by the blast,” Andrei Sizov, a 47-year-old owner of a nearby wood workshop, told AFP.
“They are making us pay for destroying the Moskva,” he said. It was the first major Russian strike around the Ukrainian capital in over two weeks.

The governor of Ukraine’s southern Odessa region, Maxim Marchenko, said the 186-metre-long Russian missile cruiser was hit by Ukrainian Neptune missiles on Wednesday.
The Moskva had been leading Russia’s naval effort in the seven-week conflict, and the circumstances around its sinking and the fate of its crew of over 500 remain murky.
Russia’s defence ministry said a blast on the vessel was the result of exploding ammunition and that the resulting damage had caused it to “lose its balance” as it was being towed to port on Thursday.

The fleet has been blockading the besieged southern port city of Mariupol, where Russian officials say they are in full control although Ukrainian fighters are still holed up in the city’s fortress-like steelworks.
Joining NATO
Moscow, which invaded Ukraine partly because of deepening ties between Kyiv and NATO, on Friday warned of unspecified “consequences” should Finland and Sweden join the US-led defence alliance.
The two countries are considering joining NATO after Russia’s devastating invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.
“They will automatically find themselves on the NATO frontline,” Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
Shortly afterwards, Finland’s European Affairs Minister Tytti Tuppurainen said it was “highly likely” that her country would apply for NATO membership.
“The people of Finland, they seem to have already made up their mind and there is a huge majority for the NATO membership,” she told Britain’s Sky News.
Unlike Sweden, Finland neighbours Russia, from which it declared independence in 1917 after 150 years of Russian rule.
Russian forces last month started withdrawing from around the Ukrainian capital as they are redeployed to focus on territory in the east of the country, but the city remains vulnerable to missile strikes.

“The number and scale of missile strikes against targets in Kyiv will increase in response to any terrorist attacks or sabotage committed by the Kyiv nationalist regime on Russian territory,” Russia’s defence ministry said.
“As a result of the strike on the Zhulyansky machine-building plant ‘Vizar’, the workshops for the production and repair of long-range and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as anti-ship missiles, were destroyed,” the ministry said.
Seizing the eastern Donbas region, where Russian-backed separatists control the Donetsk and Lugansk areas, would allow Moscow to create a southern corridor to the occupied Crimean peninsula.
Ukraine said that Russian strikes had killed five people in the area, after President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow’s forces were aiming to “destroy” the region.

A Russian attack on buses ferrying civilians from the war-torn east killed seven people and wounded more than two dozen, Ukraine said on Friday.
Ukrainian authorities have been urging people in the south and the Donbas area in the east to quickly move west in advance of a large-scale Russian offensive.
Mariupol is in ruins 50 days into Russia’s so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine.
Thousands of civilians are believed to have died in the strategic city, many of their bodies still trapped in apartment buildings.

The fighting subsided and Mariupol’s residents have started coming outside in search of food, water and an escape route.
“I know that we experienced horror and we don’t know what will happen next. We live like we’re on top of a volcano,” said 59-year-old Tatyana, a municipal employee waiting for humanitarian aid.
In Geneva, the UN refugee agency said that more than five million people have now fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion, in Europe’s worst refugee crisis since World War II.
Moscow on Thursday accused Ukraine of sending helicopters to bomb a village in Russia’s Bryansk region – not far from the border with Ukraine – injuring eight people.
Later the same day, the head of Russia’s Belgorod region said a village close to the border was shelled by Ukraine, while residents from this and a nearby village had been evacuated as a precaution.
Kyiv has denied the helicopter attack, instead accusing Russia of staging the incidents to stir up “anti-Ukrainian hysteria” in the country.
Separately, the Russian defence ministry said Friday its strategic rocket forces “eliminated up to 30 Polish mercenaries” in a strike on the village of Izyumskoe, not far from the city of Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine.

Jerusalem (AFP) - More than 150 people were wounded Friday in clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli police in Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound, the first face-off at the flashpoint holy site since the start of Ramadan.
Israeli police said “dozens of masked men” marched into Al-Aqsa setting off fireworks before crowds hurled stones towards the Western Wall – considered the holiest site where Jews can pray.
Witnesses said Palestinians threw stones at Israeli forces, who fired rubber-coated bullets and sound grenades.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said 153 people were hospitalised and “dozens” of others were treated at the scene. Israeli police said at least three officers were hurt.
Around 400 people were arrested, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club said.
The clashes come after three weeks of deadly violence in Israel and the occupied West Bank, and as the Jewish festival of Passover and Christian Easter overlap with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Aqsa is Islam’s third-holiest site. Jews refer to it as the Temple Mount, referencing two temples said to have stood there in antiquity.

Last year during the Muslim fasting month, clashes that flared in Jerusalem, including between Israeli forces and Palestinians visiting Al-Aqsa, led to 11 days of devastating conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Islamist group that rules the Palestinian enclave of Gaza.
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said Friday’s “riots” were “unacceptable”.
“The convergence of Passover, Ramadan and Easter is symbolic of what we have in common. We must not let anyone turn these holy days into a platform for hate, incitement and violence,” he said.
UN Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland urged “the authorities on both sides to immediately de-escalate the situation and prevent any further provocations by radical actors”, a position echoed by the US Palestinian Affairs Unit and the EU’s diplomatic service.

Police said crowds had hurled rocks “in the direction of the Western Wall… and as the violence surged, police were forced to enter the grounds surrounding the mosque,” adding officers “did not enter the mosque.”
But Al-Aqsa mosque director Omar al-Kiswani told AFP that an “assault was made inside the Al-Aqsa mosque”.
“More than 80 young people inside the holy mosque were displaced,” he said, adding: “Al-Aqsa mosque is a red line”.
Before Ramadan, Israel and Jordan stepped up talks in an effort to avoid a repeat of last year’s violence.
Jordan serves as custodian of the mosque compound, while Israel controls access.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said there was “no place for the invaders and occupiers in our holy Jerusalem”.
Analysts say Hamas wants to keep the conflict alive in the West Bank and in Jerusalem but avoid escalation in the Gaza Strip after last year’s war, and with thousands of Gazans’ Israeli work permits at risk.
“Hamas does not want a new confrontation,” said Mukhaimer Abu Saada, professor of political science at Gaza’s Al-Azhar University.
An Israeli security source said the Islamic Jihad militant group – which controls neither the West Bank nor Gaza – would be more inclined towards an escalation with Israel.

The group warned “the confrontation will be closer and harder” for Israeli forces if “they do not stop the aggression against our people”.
Along with Hamas, Islamic Jihad mobilised thousands of people in Gaza on Friday in solidarity with Palestinians at Al-Aqsa, AFP correspondents reported.

Israel has poured additional forces into the West Bank and is reinforcing its wall and fence barrier after four deadly attacks in the Jewish state in the past three weeks.

A total of 14 people have been killed in the attacks since March 22, including a shooting spree in Bnei Brak, an Orthodox Jewish city in greater Tel Aviv.
Twenty-two Palestinians have been killed over the same period, including assailants who targeted Israelis, according to an AFP tally.
On Thursday, Israel announced it would block crossings from the West Bank and Gaza into Israel from Friday afternoon through Saturday, the first two nights of Passover week, and potentially keep the crossings closed for the rest of the holiday.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who lost his parliamentary majority last week, has given Israeli forces a free hand to “defeat terror” in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since the Six-Day War of 1967.
Some of the attacks in Israel were carried out by Arab citizens of Israel linked to or inspired by the Islamic State group, others by Palestinians, cheered by Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Three Palestinians died Thursday as Israeli forces launched fresh raids into the West Bank district of Jenin, a week after a deadly gun attack against a Tel Aviv nightlife district. A fourth died of his wounds on Friday.
