The Moon is full when the Aquarius Sun opposes the Moon in Leo midday on Wednesday. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Leo-Aquarius polarity deals with the balance between all that is personal (Leo) and all that is impersonal (Aquarius). The Snow Moon
The sequence of full moons that fall through the year are sometimes assigned names such as the "Snow Moon", according to the months and seasons in which they fall. This practice has been popularised in recent decades by the Farmers' Almanac in the United States. The names used by that almanac claim to have ancient origins from Native American tribes. This claim has been examined in detail by Patricia Haddock's book Mysteries of the Moon (1992) and is partially true, but the selection of names is largely arbitrary.
Throughout history a great variety of different names have been given to the sequence of lunar cycles through the year, and modern lists of such names, such as those popularised by the Farmers' Almanac, tend to inevitably be a medley of names taken from many different cultures.
According to the Venerable Bede's De temporum ratione (The Reckoning of Time; 725 AD) – an authoritative account of the calendar used in Saxon England – the lunar month containing the second full moon after the December solstice (within winter) was called the "month of mud (Sol-mōnaþ)".
The biography of Charlemagne (circa 817–833 AD), written a few years after his death, gives a name of the "horn month, or disinherited month (Hornung)" for the same lunar month.
However, in the scheme followed by the Farmers' Almanac, which has become rather widely quoted, any full moon in the month of February is called the "Snow" Moon.
Observing the Moon in coming days
Over the nights following 16 February, the Moon will rise around an hour later each day, becoming prominent later in the night. Within a few days, it will only be visible in the pre-dawn and early-morning sky. By the time it reaches last quarter, a week after full moon, it will rise in the middle of the night and set at around noon.

The exact moment of full moon is defined as the time when the Moon's ecliptic longitude is exactly 180° away from the Sun's ecliptic longitude, as observed from the center of the Earth. The Sun is in Aquarius from January 19-February 18. During this cycle, we are motivated by our hunger for knowledge, experience, and originality. Innovation is more important to us than convention. The class distinctions, structure, and order that Capricorn finds appealing now seem to be too rigid. The freedom of the individual becomes far more significant to us.

Whenever we do something for the first time, we create a birth chart for what we did – the best example is when we get married to someone, we give birth to our marriage to that person and in so doing, we create a birth chart for the marriage. France approves returning 15 artworks stolen from Jews

Paris (AFP) - The French senate Tuesday approved the return of 15 artworks looted from Jews during World War II, as part of efforts by the government to accelerate restitutions.
The vote authorises public museums holding the works, including the world-famous Musee d’Orsay in Paris, to hand over the property to the heirs of the original owners.
French Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot welcomed the “historic” move.
It was the first time in 70 years that the French government had made serious steps to return artworks “that were acquired in troubling circumstances during the occupation because of anti-Semitic persecution”, she said.
She called the legislation a “first stage” in returning objects “still being conserved in public collections – objects that ought not, and should never have been there”.
The Senate approved the bill, after it cleared the lower house of parliament in late January. Now all it requires is the signature of President Emmanuel Macron to enter into force.
Thousands of paintings by some of the world’s most famous artists were looted or forcibly acquired during the Nazi occupation of France.
Since the end of the conflict, they have been kept in custody by public museums such as the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay in Paris.
- Klimt to be returned -
In 2018, the government set up a special unit to try to track down the heirs of the owners, rather than waiting for them to come forward, in what was a bid to speed up the process.
One of the paintings set to be returned is titled “Rose bushes under trees” by Gustav Klimt. Currently held by the Musee d’Orsay, it is the only painting by the Austrian master owned by the French state.
It was acquired in 1980, but subsequent research has shown it was forcibly sold by Austrian collector Eleonore Stiasny in Vienna in 1938 before she was deported and killed.
In December, another four works of looted art were returned to their Jewish owner’s legal heirs.
The watercolours and drawings by French 19th-century artists were seized in 1940 from businessman Moise Levi de Benzion.
Until these four works were returned, only 169 artworks had been restored to their owners since 1951 out of an estimated 2,200 held by the French state.
The French culture ministry estimates that a total of 100,000 artworks were seized in France during the war, when the country was administered by the Nazis and an anti-Semitic French collaborationist regime.
In November, France handed back 26 treasures looted from the West African nation of Benin during the colonial era, part of a separate pledge by Macron to restore some artworks to the continent.

UK annual inflation hits fresh 30-year high

London (AFP) - UK annual inflation has hit the highest level since 1992, data showed Wednesday, adding pressure to the cost of living and on the Bank of England to keep raising rates.
The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) edged up to 5.5 percent in January from 5.4 percent in December, also a level not seen in almost three decades, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
The rate is now at the highest level since March 1992, the ONS added.
Prices have soared globally over the past year, in large part owing to surging energy prices, while consumers are facing also higher food costs as economies reopen from pandemic lockdowns.
“We understand the pressures people are facing with the cost of living,” British finance minister Rishi Sunak said in response to Wednesday’s data.
“These are global challenges,” he added.
Annual inflation in the eurozone stands at a record-high 5.1 percent, while CPI in the United States hit 7.5 percent in January – the largest increase in almost 40 years.
As global inflation reaches decades-high peaks, central banks are deciding on how fast to hike interest rates.
The Bank of England earlier this month lifted its main interest rate for the second time in a row aimed at bringing down inflation, which is rising faster than workers’ wage increases.

The BoE has forecast Britain’s annual inflation rate to peak at 7.25 percent in April, far above its 2.0-percent target.
The latest “increase in CPI inflation… will add a bit more pressure on the Bank of England to continue raising interest rates rapidly”, said Paul Dales, chief UK economist at Capital Economics.
Policymakers in December lifted borrowing costs from a record-low 0.1 percent to 0.25 percent – their first tightening in more than three years.
They raised them again this month, to 0.5 percent.
With prices shooting higher, Sunak earlier this month unveiled a support package worth £9 billion ($12.2 billion, 10.7 billion euros) targeted at 28 million poorer and middle-income households.
This is likely to be offset, however, by a surge in domestic energy bills and a salary tax hike from April.
Victoria Scholar, head of investment at Interactive Investor, said “markets should brace for an aggressive (BoE rate) tightening cycle ahead, with the potential for much higher price levels in the face of April’s energy price cap hike”.

Scholar also pointed to “the possibility of further supply constraints if tensions between Russia and Ukraine flare up again”.
World oil prices this week struck the highest levels since 2014, before cooling, as investors grow increasingly worried about energy supplies in the event of a war between major producer Russia and Ukraine.
As prices soar in the UK, hundreds of people protested in London and other cities Saturday, demanding government action to tackle the sharply rising cost of living.
One of the marches organised by The People’s Assembly headed for Downing Street in London where they called for the resignation of scandal-hit Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Similar demonstrations were held in several UK cities, including Glasgow in Scotland where a placard read “Freeze Prices Not the Poor”.
Many demonstrators’ banners mocked Johnson for lockdown-busting Downing Street parties, amid a police probe into whether the festivities were legal that has shaken his premiership.
